Self-hosting and contributing

The repository is MIT licensed. Use Node 22, install with npm ci, then run npm run build:packages, npm run typecheck and npm test.
The website stays at the repository root. The remote MCP app is in apps/mcp, documentation in apps/docs, and developer portal in apps/dev.
Build the remote app with npm run build -w @shiptested/mcp-app. Configure the expected host before deployment; unrecognised hosts and cross-origin browser requests are refused. Do not relax the OSV allowlist or input limits.
No production credentials are needed for deterministic tools. Deploy a preview, test with an official MCP client, then review DNS and protection settings separately. Never expose a private preview bypass secret in a client snippet.
Contributions should keep every claim tied to evidence, preserve incomplete states, include tests and use a pull request. npm publication and DNS changes require the maintainer's release step.
