How verdicts work
On this page
Deterministic decisions
High findings produce Blocked. Incomplete required coverage produces Incomplete when no higher-priority blocking finding exists. Other findings produce Review required. With complete required checks and no findings, the result is Checks passed.
The CLI uses exit 3 for an Incomplete report and exit 1 for Blocked or its configured finding threshold. Never interpret an incomplete check as a clean scan. Inspect every coverage entry even when a blocking finding is already present.
Severity and fixes
OSV advisory metadata supplies severity. Unsupported or absent severity requires review; the model does not invent a score. Fixed-version extraction is tied to the exact dependency and relevant advisory ranges. A suggested version must still be tested in the application.
AI boundaries
Optional AI adds notes and unconfirmed research only. The scanner's finding list and verdict are immutable during enrichment. Notes are constrained to approved scanner descriptions/actions, with a safe scanner fallback.
